When you own a townhome you are buying a lot more space and freedom than what you would have in a condo. You’ll get a lot more living area and in most cases a basement downstairs offering even more room. You won’t have the strict rules that you need to follow as a condominium owner and will be able to renovate your townhome to your liking. When you look at the square footage you’ll receive when purchasing a townhouse, you’re definitely going to be getting more home for the money.
More security
You’re going to be living in close proximity to your neighbors and this will provide a lot more security than you would find in a single-family home. When you’re part of a townhouse community you’ll find that all the neighbors are watching out for each other – especially when it comes to crime. It’s a lot harder for a thief to break into a townhouse unnoticed than it is to get into a detached home where the houses are spaced further apart.

Unless you’re living in a stacked townhouse, you won’t have to be concerned about having neighbors above or below you. You won’t have to worry about the neighbors from below complaining about your children stomping along the floor and you’ll never have footsteps from above waking you up in the middle of the night.
